Aina Davis is an incredible violinist and educator. While patient, encouraging and very supportive for all ages she brings the European tradition of excellency and learning and teaches discipline effectively. I recommend her without reservation.
I attend a private liberal arts college ranked as one of the top schools across the nation where I am majoring in Violin Performance. Accepted as one of the top 10% auditionees in my incoming year, I was granted with a $42,000 scholarship for 4 years. I gladly serve as a principle leader in the Westmont College Orchestra and a member of their virtuosic chamber ensemble program. “If it wasn’t for my teacher, Aina Davis, who I’ve known most of my life, I wouldn’t be the musician and person I am today. In respects to our relationship as student and teacher, she is also my mentor for life as I continue to learn from her. If I’m far away in another city, state, or country, I can simply dial her number and she will be there to answer any of my questions or concerns about anything. Anytime we work together, it’s extremely clear how passionate she is about her love for violin. Teaching her students what she knows is her second nature. As she pours her heart into yours, she remains to the point and genuine. “Aina is unique, funny, and has a loving personality. She can see potential and will go above and beyond if a student is willing to work just as hard with her. She can shape love and discipline for life through music and more. To this day, I still continue to work hard with diligence and love of each moment of the process to all the goals I continue to set for myself.”
When I started with Aina I saw a huge improvement in my playing. While her lessons are fun, she pushes you to learn and play challenging music. Because of Aina I have been playing in the Napa Vallejo Youth Symphony for 4 years, a chamber group for 2 years, and I have won the Junior Bach Competition.
I have been learning Violin from Aina for almost two years now. I was basically a beginner, having forgotten skills I learned as a child, more than thirty years ago. Working with Aina has been a motivating experience. It has reignited an excitement for learning music that I knew as a child, and the wonderful process of discovery that comes with seeing yourself get better. She is a very patient, yet skills-based teacher. She will teach you correctly as well as challenge you to do more than you think you can do. Her passion is contagious!
13 years old....this is when I started violin lessons with Aina Davis. Before this, I was introduced to the violin in an orchestra at my school and enjoyed playing with a larger group of people. But then I moved and had to begin taking private lessons with a different instructor. I felt bored and unmotivated. After months of driving me far for these lessons, my mother decided to switch instructors. That's when I began lessons with Aina, and the violin took on a whole new meaning.
My daughter has been studying with Aina Davis for seven years. We are so grateful to have found Aina. What makes Aina so special is her knowledge, intuition, and warmth. If you decide to study with Aina she will help your child develop his or her own voice with the instrument. Music is a rich experience for almost anything your child would like to achieve.
Aina had engraved in me a passion for the violin. She is extremely talented, knowledgeable and passionate and passes that along to her students. She is patient and kind, and will push her students a little more with every lesson so that they reach their full potential. I have been blessed to have Aina as an instructor. Now, that blessing has reached my 5 year old daughter as she currently takes lessons with Aina, and very much so enjoys them. Aina's approach reaches ALL ages. I have seen my daughter advance so much in a matter of months. I absolutely recommend Aina to anyone who is interested in the violin.
